Business Data Engineer / Data Architect

We're looking for an experienced Business Data Engineer/Data Architect to join our dynamic Tech & Data team. This critical role will enhance our data capabilities, streamline integration across multiple systems, and significantly boost our analytical power and decision-making efficiency.

What You'll Do:

Data Infrastructure & Integration:
Design, develop, and maintain robust data infrastructures. Seamlessly integrate diverse data sources (SQL databases, ERP systems, CRM tools, Excel, Asana, websites, etc.) ensuring reliable, accurate, and timely data flow.
Advanced Reporting & Dashboards:
Utilize Power BI (or equivalent tools) to build sophisticated, interactive dashboards that provide actionable intelligence for internal teams (particularly Procurement), featuring real-time analytics on stock, sales, forecasting, replenishment strategies, and more.
Data Quality & Governance:
Implement rigorous processes to maintain data integrity, accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Develop governance policies that support reliable, secure, and compliant data management.
Systems & Platform Optimization:
Collaborate closely with internal teams to continuously enhance our platforms—ERP (Sage Evo), CRM (Asana), web integrations, custom order systems, stock management systems—and ensure they communicate effectively. Drive improvements in data exchange, user experience, and overall platform performance.
Innovation & Leadership:
Introduce and champion new ideas, tools, and practices. Act as a senior resource, guiding team members, establishing best practices, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and continual improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer/Data Science (or similar) and 5 + years as Data Engineer, Data Architect, or Senior BI Developer
  • Minimum of 5+ years' hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect, or Senior BI Developer.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL and significant practical experience with Power BI (or similar platforms) for advanced, formula-driven reporting and analytics is mandatory.
  • Proven ability to integrate complex data sets from multiple systems into cohesive analytical outputs.
  • Familiarity with ERP (Sage Evo), CRM (Asana), and web platforms (e.g., nopCommerce) advantageous.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Experience managing and integrating ecommerce solutions, including real-time data exchanges with external websites and supplier platforms, is highly beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or similar).
  • This is an in-office role (not a remote role), role is in Muizenberg, Cape Town.

What You'll Do:

Content Management
Oversee the editing, flow, and publishing of web content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and consistency. Collaborate with content creators, designers, and analysts to develop and update website content.
Website Development and Maintenance
Work closely with developers to implement and update website features and functionalities. Conduct regular audits to ensure website performance, speed, and responsiveness.
Data Management and Reporting
Assist in building custom reports and dashboards using SQL, Power BI, and other tools. Develop automated data solutions and manage integration with Asana and other systems. Build and manage reports for internal use and external stakeholders.
User Experience Optimization
Analyse website traffic and user behaviour to identify improvement opportunities. Implement strategies to enhance user experience, including navigation, layout, and interactive elements.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
Test and ensure quality assurance of web content and features before deployment. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accessibility standards. Stay updated on industry trends, web standards, and best practices.
Collaboration and Innovation
Actively contribute to a senior technical team driving creative change. Assist in exploring opportunities in AI, data-driven processes, and tech innovation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Web Development).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience building reports and dashboards (Power BI preferred).
  • Proficiency in web development technologies, including HTML/CSS, and CMS systems.
  • Experience with nopCommerce, Asana, and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, JIRA) is advantageous.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

QA & QC Officer

We’re now seeking a quality-driven self starter skilled in QA/QC for promo, manufacturing, or retail—to safeguard excellence and propel further growth.

What You'll Do:

Build the QA/QC framework
Design and maintain end-to-end quality systems and standard operating procedures that align with business goals.
Oversee inspections
Lead pre-production, in-line, incoming-stock, and sampling inspections to verify compliance at every stage.
Safeguard product conformity
Ensure all goods meet company and client specifications, documenting and reporting any defects or deviations.
Drive issue resolution
Manage customer complaints, rejects, and returns, implementing corrective and preventive actions for continuous improvement.
Strengthen partnerships
Cultivate collaborative relationships with suppliers and customers to uphold quality standards and streamline workflows.
Enable team excellence
Deliver training for warehouse and cross-functional teams, fostering a quality-focused culture and consistent best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Higher qualification in Fashion Design, Quality Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
